TARUKO (Taiwan) 台湾太鲁阁一游

Recently, took a trip to the famous Taruko in Taiwan. Really beautiful and majestic. A different scenery at every turn. Besides the scenery, what impressed me more was the positive attitude and the discipline of the people. Living in a disaster prone area, they have learned to help others and their views of life was so positive. Everywhere, you see people just queue up nicely and very very courteous. Even while travelling on escalator, everyone would just move to aside so that those in a hurry could just overtake. You don't see rubbish bin everywhere, but the place was really impressively clean. Even the taxi driver would direct us to the nearest rubbish bin and advised us to do our part in keeping the place clean. Singaporean! we have a lot to learn from them ...
不久前到台湾的太鲁阁一游。 太漂亮，太宏伟了！但是，更令我印象深刻的却是当地的人。在时常，随时都可能发生天灾的环境，他们依然是那么乐于助人，那么友善。一般人都很守纪律，也很环保。 垃圾桶很少，也没看到外劳在打扫，到处却也挺干净的。 真的有很多值得我们学习的地方

Years back, all because of trying to help a " friend ", landed myself in deeeep shit. .and had to spend many years paying debt. Heard this phrase in a chinese drama serial this morning.. How true !   wished I had understood this long ago

 亲身体验, 有感而言。。所以到现在还在做牛做马。。。  
只因为当年没明白这个道理。

Guarantee II ,

"GUARANTEE" 保证

In life, we often heard people demanding "guarantee" of some sort regardless of what they are getting. Maybe when we purchase some merchanise, we often get some guarantee from the manufacturer. It does not mean that it is 100% flawless, it just mean that if there were something wrong, the manufacturer would try to fix it, and if it's not possible to fix, they would replace it within a certain stipulated time.
But when you are dealing with people and providing some service to people, there is soo much individual variations that it is impossible to "guarantee". Truely, is it possible to guarantee at all ? Why are people still asking for it ? Maybe people just like lies and often lies sell. I would be very skeptical and walk away if someone is ever so willing to give me that sort of "guarantee".
The only " GUARANTEE" in life that I am certain of, is The day we are born, we are "guaranteed" that we would die one day...

我们时常听到人们向他人索取“保证”。 但是有很多事情，事实上根本就没法给予任何“保证”的。明知是谎言，还是那么乐意听，那么愿意接受。唉。。。
在人生里，我唯一明确知道和可以“保证”的事实只有 “从我们出世的那一刻起，我们保证会死” 。只是在何时？何地？何如？。。

WORK-LIFE Balance 生活与工作的平衡

“WORK-LIFE Balance" a very commonly heard phrase mentioned by various leaders of the community recently. My work gave me the privilege to interact with people from all wards of life. Often do I have come across people who have to work very very hard, more than 12 hours a day, struggling just to earn enough for their family, living from day to day.
I couldn't help but noticed that people that keep telling me about "work-life balance" mostly come from the fortunate ones that either never have to worry about money because they were born rich, or the luckier ones that somehow have made it in life but have long forgotten their struggling days. I would like to appeal to them to be more sensitive. If you really have too much money and unbalance with too much time as well, do some volunteer work to help the less fortunate among us ..
“生活与工作的平衡” 是我们最近常听到的课题。我偶尔会遇到为生活劳碌，只为三餐温饱而得每天工作超过12个甚至16个小时的人。他们的挣扎和痛苦绝不是那些吃的太饱，太好，整天想着怎样“平衡”多余的时间的人所能体会和理解的。或许后者可以少说些废话，多做些义工，帮助身边比较不幸的一群

Birds- for the Bird Speeches(Talk Cock) ,鸟语录怎么可以没有鸟。。

How can NiaoYuLu not have pictures of birds? So I decided to go to the best neighbourhood pets trading shop to ask for permission to take some nice pictures. Then I realised that they are really so beautiful as well. They made one felt so thrill and so amazed at the perfectly matched colors...
鸟语录在前面已经有了花，来托出“鸟语花香”中的花香，所以几天前特地跑到邻里最有名的鸟店，得到那和蔼可亲的老板的许可，拍了几张鸟儿的照片来配搭‘鸟语花香’里的“鸟”语。才发现鸟儿的美还真不输花儿的娇。。。
